This tour gives you the opportunity to visit the most visited archeological site in Crete Knossos Palace and then go away to explore the countryside , Lasithi Plateau the biggest one in Crete located at an altitude around 900 m above the sea level, visit old traditional villages where time seems to have stopped long ago , visit the Birthplace of Zeus where according to Greek Mythology Zeus was born there , visit the old wind mills an olive oil factory where we learn all about Cretan golden liquid and taste different kind of olive oil and of course later we enjoy a Cretan traditional lunch at a family restaurant up on the mountain.
Trip Itinerary
Picking you up from your hotel.
We stop at the old village of Mochos to walk through the narrow streets, see the old churches and take a taste of the local way of life, probably have something to drink or enjoy some local food at a family restaurant at the villages main square.
We will see the old wind mills that used to pump the water up from underground to water the crops, and the other wind mills that used to grain, wheat and corn to make flour.
We stop and take some photos at the Aposelemi Dam.
We walk around the picturesque village of Krasi, take some photos of the oldest and biggest Platanus tree in Crete.
We stop up on the mountain to enjoy the view of the Aposelemi Dam.
We take you to Knossos archeological site then you explore it on your own or we can arrange for an official guide with extra charge.

Meeting Point Options: Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel Duration: 8 hours Normally the tour lasts around 8 hours but some times depending on the traffic or weather conditions it might last slightly longer or shorter.

Entrance fee at Knossos Palace 15 euros. Private Guide inside Knossos Palace. (100 euros per group, it’s OPTIONAL though)
